Q9: Where do I find references to the NZ-relevant literature?

NZ University Libraries and those of larger city councils have wide coverage of social science books. In addition, some research libraries are of relevance. NZ Libraries are connected up through common services.

NZ Bibliography (Word doc): the main indexing sources for books, monographs and theses (This also covers all books etc available in NZ Libraries).

Index New Zealand: (INNZ) covers articles published in New Zealand magazines and newspapers and publications about New Zealand and the South Pacific. It contains abstracts and descriptions of articles from approximately 1000 publications, covering publications from 1987 to the present day, with articles from older publications are being added retrospectively. About 2500 records are added to INNZ every month.

Kiwi Research Information Service: guides to research published online by New Zealand universities and polytechnics.

FindNZArticles: covers articles by or about New Zealanders, published in New Zealand newspapers and journals. FindNZarticles is a collaboration between Christchurch City Libraries, Dunedin Public Libraries, Landcare Research NZ Ltd and the National Library.

Publications New Zealand is a website providing access to the New Zealand National Bibliography (NZNB). It contains descriptions of books, periodicals, films, music and other material published in New Zealand, or with a significant New Zealand content, and links to libraries where you can find each item.

Te Puna Web Directory is a collection of links to selected New Zealand, Maori and Pacific Island websites. You can browse the directory or search by a word or phrase. Ko te Rarangi Kaupapa Maori is the section of the web directory that lists Maori websites. It can be browsed in te reo Maori and in English.
