Welcome to the Institute of Public Policy.
The Institute of Public Policy (IPP) is a leading Research Institute at AUT University. It has an established track record in public policy and economic and social development.
We organise our work around three key areas;
- Research and Consultancy;
- Teaching (including professional development) and Post Graduate Research Supervision; and
- Work in the Public Interest (which includes advocacy and communication on key social issues, publications, forums, seminars, conferences and advice - with staff actively involved in a large number of boards, advisory committees and community organisations.
Please take some time to explore the centres and programmes that make up the Institute. At the heart of IPP is a desire to effect constructive change. IPP staff come from varying disciplines and backgrounds and are committed to multidisciplinary, team-based and user-lead approaches to research and development. As a result our ‘modus operandi’ sees us partnering and collaborating with many people and organisations both across the university and with practitioners, professionals and academics from a wide array of public, private and non government organisations outside of the university. As a result IPP has often been referred to as “the Institute without walls”.
This has lead to a work ethic and culture that reflects a dynamic interaction between policy and practice, between research and development, and between academia and ‘the real world’.
We look forward to working with you.
