Information from 2 large surveys can be supplied down to the local authority level (at least for larger local authorities). These are the Big City  QOL survey and the New Zealand Election Survey (NZES). In the attached appendix the sample sizes for each local authority are listed for both surveys. It is recommended that some 30 respondents are needed in any local authority area for estimates to be at all reliable. Then some of the main variables are listed.
