COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
The community development
programme is led by Dr. Love Chile. It consists of PhD, MPhil and
professional development activities such as short courses, workshops
and training.
The guiding principle of the programmes
in community development is to work in partnership with government
departments, community-based organisations and the business sector
to develop research, teaching and professional development programmes
that meet the needs of the community.
Current research projects can be found on the Research and Consultancy page.
A series of two books on Community Development Practice in Aotearoa
New Zealand has been funded by a number of government departments
and community organisations to provide a reference book for good
practice. The first in the series is currently being completed to
be launched at the National Community Local Authority Development
Workers Conference in Hamilton in September 2007.
